"The Native People’s way of life was dramatically altered after the arrival of European civilization to the North American continent. With the tragic and inevitable conclusion of the Great Sioux War in the 1870’s, the last stand of the free roaming Plains Indians came to an end. This Cheyenne Chief stands on a hill overlooking his small camp, lamenting on the nature of life and the destiny of his people in the years to come. The hopes and dreams of his people to continue living wild and free is a concept that is setting like the sun. What tomorrow may bring, only the Great
Spirit knows." © Steven Lang OPAM
