Vintage circa 1965-1966 ballpoint signatures of Roger McGuinn, Gene Clark, Chris Hillman, David Crosby, and Michael Clarke on an off-white 10.25 x 10 napkin from The Trip Club on 8572 Sunset Strip in West Hollywood, California, a club owned by Elmer Valentine and his parents, who also owned the nearby Whisky A Go Go. The Byrds played a number of early gigs at the shortlived Trip Club, which opened its doors in 1965 and closed just 13 months later. In fine condition.

Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from Tracks, and by a letter of provenance from a previous owner: "This was given to me about 40 years ago by someone I worked with at the time. He had pen friends (popular at the time) all over the world and one in California had sent him the signed napkin. He said...he had no use for it. I offered to pay him something for it but he said he didn’t want it and I could have it…He told me the person who sent the napkin was in The Trip, when the Byrds were there doing some publicity for an upcoming record.”
