(Warner Bros., 1957) Original color 14 x 36 insert movie poster for the Warner Bros. release of the 1957 giant insect horror film The Black Scorpion, directed by Edward Ludwig and starring Richard Denning, Mara Corday, and Carlos Rivas, with stop motion animation special effects by Willis O'Brien. The film's storyline concerns giant scorpions wreak havoc across the rural countryside after volcanic activity frees them from the earth. The poster shows Corday posing behind a large scorpion monster head above the film's title logo, with upper portion reading: "He'll get you—scared stiff!" Three advisory circles to lower section read: "Shown uncut! Every terror exactly as filmed," "We urge you not to panic or bolt from your seats!," and "Don't be afraid to scream! It helps relieve the tension!" Lower border bears an NSS caption line and numbered "57/523." In very good condition, with tack holes to the corners, a couple of extra horizontal folds, and dampstaining and related rippling to the bottom.
