The Beatles Very Rare All Four Autographs On One Page 11/20/1963 Concert Manchester England
The Beatles Very Rare All Four Autographs On One Page 11/20/1963 Concert Manchester England On November 20th, 1963 at the Apollo Theater/ ABC Cinema in Ardwick Green, Manchester England, a 15 year old school girl was clutching her autograph book waiting for the greatest event in the history of her young life, if not the entire country! A new group that was taking the UK by storm called "The Beatles" were about to perform. The girl's name was Teresa Doherty and with the kind of iron-clad courage that years later made her one of the top Public Relations Executives for some of the top musical superstars in the world, she broke through the hordes of screaming girls and approached the "Fab Four" as they were entering the stage door and asked for an autograph. They complied gracelessly, all signing their names on one page of her autograph book. At the time, thinking their "act" was a passing phase (this was right before their invasion of America), Paul McCartney wrote "THE BEATLES" after his name, so she would, as he said, "remember who these scribbles on the page are a year from now"! This sold-out concert of over 2500 young fans became the subject of one of the most popular and aired Pathe Newsreels, which showed both the hysterical fans (including shots of Teresa Doherty!), and the Beatles in their dressing room, along with part of the actual concert as they perform two of their hit songs. Teresa's adventures at the concert also became one of the favorite stories of the time. Wanting to get a better view of the Beatles, she stood up on her seat, and fell over. She was so badly injured that the local St Johns’ Ambulance Service were called and had to carry her out on a stretcher. However by the time they got to the Foyer, Teresa jumped off stretcher and ran back to into the theater to watch the rest of the concert! This is that extremely rare page with all four Beatle's signatures, and the very sought after addition of Paul's handwritten "BEATLES", taken from her precious autograph book which she has treasured for over fifty years! It is in excellent condition. The ink from all four is as vibrant as the day they signed the page. Combined autographs of all four Beatles, especially in their per-American days is quite rare and valuable, especially when it comes directly from the individual who the autographs were signed for. This direct connection gives them 100% authentication. As an extra bonus, on the back of the signed page is another autograph of legendary British Actress Christine Hargreaves, which Teresa got in the same year. Hargreaves was best known as Christine Appleby in England's longest running TV series "Coronation Street" (1961), as well as many other famous roles ,including "1984" (1984), "An American Werewolf In London" (1981), and of course as Pink's Mother in "The Wall" (1982). The remarkable Beatles treasure comes with a detailed Letter of Provenience from Teresa Doherty herself, as well as a photograph of the Beatles from 1963. Teresa and The Beatles can be seen in that classic Pathe Concert Newsreel YOUTUBE link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9nkTgIYflm4. Autograph page is 4.5"x4".
