In October of 1963, The Beatles expanded their international horizons and made their way to Sweden for what would be the band’s first European tour outside of the U. K. Beatlemania quickly grabbed hold in Sweden as the band made their way through an 8-day, 5-show tour of the country. A media intensive trip, the band made numerous appearances on Swedish television and radio, and was also scheduled for a variety of interviews, including a sit-down interview for Sweden’s highly popular Expressen newspaper. On the evening of October 26, 1963, The Beatles sat down with accomplished Swedish journalist Lars Widding to fulfill the interview obligation with the Expressen newspaper. Widding, the father of a teenage daughter who joined the droves of countless Swedish teenagers in the madness of Beatlemania, decided to bring his daughter along for the evening so that she could attend the concert and also have an opportunity to meet the group. As many did during the time, Widding’s daughter had created an homage to the group in the form of a handwritten lyric book, accented by a variety of vintage newspaper clippings of the Beatles’ images along the front and back covers. At her memorable meeting with the Fab Four during her father’s interview session, Widding’s daughter presented her lyric book to the band in hopes of getting them to sign the inside. Not only did the group sign the inside, but all four were apparently quite amused by the creation and took time to browse through the book before handing it back to young Ms. Widding at the end of the interview. Presented here in this lot is Ms. Widding’s book, completely intact in its original form, beautifully signed by the Beatles on the first two pages: “Paul McCartney,” “John Lennon,” (reverse side of McCartney page) “Best wishes from George Harrison” and “Ringo Starr” (reverse of Harrison page). All signatures are large and complete examples. Paul has also signed again, on the back inside cover and added “(Beatles)” and amazingly he even actually took the time to make a slight correction on one of the lines written by the teenage fan on the lyric for “P.S. I Love You”, and he corrected by writing “these few words til we’re together”. The song “P.S. I Love You” was written by Paul and John and it appears on the Beatles’ first LP on Parlophone Records entitled “Please Please Me”. Handwritten lyrics in any form are the most desirable form of Beatle writing, and a recent sale saw one lyric sheet sell in auction at $1.2 million for only 12 lines of writing, or $100,000. per line!

We and the consignor make no representations and warranties, express or implied, as to whether the purchaser acquires and copyright, including but not limited to any reproduction rights of any property other than that expressly stated in the lot description.
Registration: You must register in order to bid in this auction. You can register online, by telephone or at the auction site. We will confirm your name, address and phone number(s) and ask what method of payment you prefer, if successful in the auction. Registration is free and does not obligate you to bid or buy anything. Catalogs are $25. Auction seating at the event is by catalog.

While some items in this catalog are subject to a confidential reserve price (an agreed upon price between the seller and ItsOnlyRocknRoll.com below which the item will not be sold) many items in this auction are being sold without reserve. We use the following terminology: GD = Good, VG = Very Good, EX = Excellent, NRMT = Near Mint and MT = Mint, which may be further modified by plus (+) or minus (-) signs. Buyer's Premium: There will be a 20% buyer's premium added to each winning bid placed live at the event, by phone at the event or by absentee bid placed with ItsOnlyRocknRoll.com regardless of method of payment. Bidders on eBay Live are subject to a 22.5% buyer's premium regardless of method of payment. Placing a bid is a contractual obligation and no bids may be withdrawn at any time, no exceptions!
Suspension or Termination of Registration: Bid manipulating and fraudulent bidding are prohibited. Collusion between bidders and price manipulation are prohibited. We may, in our sole discretion refuse or remove bids that ItsOnlyRocknRoll.com believes are fraudulent and may cancel any bids that ItsOnlyRocknRoll.com believes are not in good faith or made in violation of applicable law. Withdrawal of items: Sellers are prohibited from withdrawing items from the auction. ItsOnlyRocknRoll.com reserves the right to withdraw any items from any auction or sale.
Payment Methods: Cashier’s checks, money orders and wire transfers are our preferred methods of payment and enable us to process your orders most efficiently. We accept cash, checks, certified checks, wire transfers, Paypal, Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. All invoices must be paid within 14 days, so that we may pay our consignors in a timely fashion, unless prior arrangements are made in advance. Personal and company checks will delay shipment until payment has cleared our bank. No special arrangements are available without the approval of our credit department. It's Only Rock n Roll shall be entitled to charge late and / or interest charges at up to the highest rate permitted by law, as well as attorney’s fees and other collection costs incurred by us, on any past due accounts.
Sales Tax: It’s Only Rock n Roll shall collect applicable sales tax for any items won and paid for in Las Vegas, as well as, those paid for and delivered in New York. Bidders who claim tax exempt status from the sale or use tax charges must deliver a properly executed exemption certificate before the auction. Bidders agree to indemnify and hold harmless It’s Only Rock n Roll from any such tax and liability.
Expert Shipping and Packing: Lots are shipped following receipt of cleared funds totaling payment in full for your entire winnings. Certified funds, money orders and credit card payments usually ship first. Bidders must pay for packing, shipping and insurance costs for all items they win. We do not profit from shipping. International orders will be declared at the full invoice amount, with no exceptions. Buyer is responsible for all duty and customs charges. Items may be picked up in person, by appointment, after payment, in cleared funds, has been received. All items are shipped from our location in Huntington, N.Y.
Guarantees & Authenticity: We guarantee that all items offered are as described in the catalog or as amended on the auction website. All autographed items are unconditionally guaranteed genuine without time limit. If a lot is declared to be not authentic, we may, at our discretion, ask for the written opinion of one competent authority acceptable to us. We will refund the purchase price after documentation has been submitted. The buyer’s only remedy under this guarantee is the cancellation of the sale and the refund of the purchase price. Non-autographed items are subject to the same guarantee as above, however claims must be made within 30 days of receipt of items(s) by buyer in writing. No exceptions. No returns will be accepted after 30 days for any reason.
Returns: All items are sold AS IS and all sales are final. No returns are accepted. All bids are final once placed. Bidders are welcome to inspect and view any item in the catalog in person, by appointment, as per the instructions in the Terms and Conditions of Sale. All items are sold as described. Please ask any and all questions prior to bidding as bids may not be cancelled.
Disputes: In the event of disputes regarding either the existence or amount of bids It’s Only Rock n Roll may rescind the sale of that lot and re-sell it or otherwise directly dispose of the lot at our sole discretion. In all cases the auctioneer's / It’s Only Rock n Roll’s decision is final. It’s Only Rock n Roll is not responsible for errors in bidding. Mistaken bids will not justify the rescission of the sale.
Consignors: Consignors are not allowed to bid on or withdraw their own lots nor to assign agents to bid on their behalf.
Our rights: We reserve the right to postpone the auction for a reasonable period of time as the result of a significant unavoidable event (i.e. Acts of God).
