The Beatles: Original Ringo Starr Sgt. Pepper
The Beatles: Original Ringo Starr Sgt. Pepper Replica Costume by Noel Howard. Incredibly detailed replica of the original marching band costume worn by Ringo Starr on the cover of The Beatles' classic "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" album. Created from a beautiful dyed woven silk by Noel Howard -- the designer who created the original costumes in 1967 -- this costume was designed directly from the specifications and measurements of the original costume owned by Ringo Starr. Consisting of a hot pink jacket, pants and hat, accompanying the costume is a signed letter from Noel Howard that reads, in part, "In November of 1999, I was found and contacted by Yoko Ono's office to recreate an exact copy of the costumes, as I had done some 35 years earlier, for a museum in Japan. To ensure that I re-created perfect matching costumes, in color, fabrics and sizes, I was flown out to New York to inspect the originals, three of which were made available to me at that time. This costume is the closest any private collector will come to owning an original." While creating the replicas for Ono, Howard also was able to construct one more replica of each costume for his own personal use. In total, this stands as 1 of only 3 Ringo costumes designed by Howard -- the other two being the original from 1967 and the costume that was commissioned by Yoko Ono which now resides in a Japanese museum. A piece of history and a truly stunning work of art that is instantly identifiable to any Beatles fan. Important notice: Heritage usually auctions material at the rate of 200-250 lots per hour. On some occasions eBay Live bid software or the Internet may not be able to keep up with the pace of the auction. We recommend placing a realistic absentee bid now as insurance to avoid disappointment. Occasionally the auctioneer may eliminate or reject an eBay Live bid, and the auctioneer may also reopen a lot after the close of the eBay live bidding (usually because we missed an audience bid), and may reject your bid even if it shows you as the winning bidder. By bidding via eBay Live, you agree that Heritage may award the lot to another bidder at its sole discretion under the circumstances described above or any other reasonable circumstances. Since eBay bids are not shown to us until we open the lot on the floor, we treat those bids just like floor bids. In most cases the floor responds before the eBay bid is presented to us, due to Internet lag time, so for consistency we have made it a policy that floor bids are always considered first over tie eBay live bids. Also please note that all Heritage lots purchased through eBay Live carry a 20% Buyer's Premium. Please make sure you read the Terms and Conditions before you bid.
