Boy is he in for a surprise! This sweet issue, with all Jack Kirby and Dick Ayers art, tells the tale of Loki using the Hulk as a pawn to attract the attention of Thor, but inadvertently gathers Ant Man, Iron Man, Thor, and the Wasp together. While the others keep the Hulk at bay, the Thunder God fights Loki. Thanks to this battle, the heroes decide to form the Avengers. One wonders if Loki had any inkling of what his plan would wrought. This Silver Age key, screams "classic" in every way! From the iconic cover to Kirby's pencils rendered at the top of his form, this premiere appearance of the Avengers is Marvel Age at its best. While this copy is mid-grade, it is solid with great cover appeal.
