The African Queen (United Artists, 1952). Lobby Card (11" X 14"). A wonderful love affair between a filthy riverboat captain and a "crazy, psalm-singing, skinny old maid" took place in the film that finally won an Oscar for Humphrey Bogart, and was Katharine Hepburn's first color film. The shoot in Africa was hard on everyone, with all hands except Bogart and director John Huston getting sick. Their secret? According to Bogart: "All I ate was baked beans, canned asparagus and Scotch whiskey. Whenever a fly bit Huston or me, it dropped dead." This lobby card only has a few small stains.
