<Our item number 111451><B>Collection Of The Five Most Common Fish Of The Green River Formation.</B> The Green River Formation of Lincoln County, Wyoming is famous for the incredible number and quality of fish fossils found in the dried up 52 million year old lakes. This remarkable grouping contains rare examples from juveniles of the five most encountered specimens of fish from this formation. Juveniles, some not much larger than hatching, are less than 1 inch to just under 1.5 inches in length. The species contained are Phareodus related to the Piranha, Priscacara related to the bass, Knightia, a herring-like fish, Diplomystus, a herring-like fish and Mioplosus related to the pike.
