United States Government. MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES, TRANSMITTING A REPORT FROM THE DIRECTOR OF THE MINT, EXHIBITING THE OPERATIONS OF THAT INSTITUTION DURING THE YEAR 1833. (Washington), Jan. 16, 1834. 8vo, later plain wraps. 2 pages. Near fine. A somewhat undernourished Mint Report, prepared by Samuel Moore, and transmitted by President Andrew Jackson to the United States Congress. Of interest is the source report on gold, which shows a far greater amount of the gold bullion used by the Mint coming from the United States, and in particular North Carolina and Georgia, than in the past. A table prepared to accompany the written report provides a statement of the amount of gold produced annually from the gold region of the United States from 1824 to 1833. Rare.
