18 clear glass pieces from Thaxter's Drug Store in Carson City, Nev. George C. Thaxter had a drug store in Carson City for about 20 years. Thaxter bought out O. P. Willis' store on the northeast corner of Carson & King streets in 1878. His store was part of a long chain of ownership of the same business that lasted nearly 100 years. Lot includes four ovals, five rounds and one square-shaped with mortar-pestal logo, with slugs that read, G. C. THAXTER DRUGGIST CARSON: 1) 6.5", bottom embossed W. T. & CO. X, two tiny air bubbles on back, one on neck, no chips or cracks; 2) 5.75", bottom embossed W. T. & CO. Z, vent holes at shoulders, flaw inside lip, two tiny air bubbles on back, no chips or cracks; 3) 5", bottom embossed W. T. & Co. M, small chip on lip, air bubbles; 4) 4.25", bottom embossed W. T. & CO. S, flaws in mold process on left bottom and slug plate, seed bubbles on back and neck, no chips or cracks. Five rounds all have bottom embossed "W. T. & CO. PAT JAN 22 78, with a letter: 1) 5.5", sun purple, air bubbles, slight chip on lip intact, "D" on bottom; 2) 5", tiny air bubbles, cork inside, bottom letter unreadable; 3) 4.5", patina, "B" on bottom, what appear to be small open air bubbles or divots on neck; 4) 4", two chips on lip, "C" on bottom, 3 air bubbles; 5) 3.5", iridescence, large air bubble on back, small on slug plate, "G" on bottom, slight chip on lip. Square bottle is 4" tall, patina and embossed "W. T. & CO. I" on bottom, irregular shaped lip with inside chip. Three ovals, the oldest type, from 1878-, with old monogram flint on slug plates embossed GEO. C. THAXTER APOTHECARY CARSON CITY NEV: 1) 6", two chips on lip (one large), rough spot on base edge, small scratch to left of slug, opalized, "7" on bottom; 2) 5", large chip on slug plate base, chip and rough edges on lip, "10" on bottom; 3) 4.25", small chip on lip and flaw, "6" on bottom. There is one 4.5" square bottle with monogram "T", slug reads THE THAXTER DRUG STORE OPP. CAPITOL. CARSON, NEV, two bubbles on neck, one on right side, bottom reads "S-F C CO 122", tiny ding on neck, tiny open bubble on back. Last four bottles embossed in block letters: 1) 6.5", slug reads THAXTER'S DRUG STORE COR. CARSON & KING STS. CARSON CITY, NEVADA, sun purple, chip on lip, small scratch on back, two air bubbles; 2) 5.25", slug reads THAXTER'S DRUG STORE COR. CARSON & KING STS. CARSON CITY, NEVADA, no chips or cracks; 3) 4", slug reads GEO. C. THAXTER DRUGGIST CARSON CITY, NEV., large air bubble on right side, chip on lip, intact; 4) 3.5", slug reads GEO. C.
