<B>William Makepeace Thackeray [writing as Major Goliath Gahagan] <I>The Professor, A Tale</B></I></B></I> (London: Richard Bentley, no date), pages 277 through 288 collated from volume two of Bentley's Miscellany, 8vo (6" x 9"), half leather with marble boards, five raised spine bands with gilt titles, marble endpapers, bookplate of Henry S. van Duzer, very good condition with slight sun fading to spine, and lightly bumped corners. Thackeray (1811 - 1863) first published this short story in Bentley's Miscellany, September 1837. <BR><BR><B>Important notice:
