<B>William Makepeace Thackeray <I>Simple Melodies with Illustrations</B></I></B></I> (London: Bernard Quaritch, 1898), unpaginated, 8vo (7" x 8.5"), purple-red boards with gilt title decoration, leather spine, deckle edges, good condition with major wear to the spine resulting in areas of missing leather, foxing to pages, mainly the endpapers. The boards are scuffed and there is uniform shelf wear to the edge of the boards. This is a facsimile of the 1832 edition printed by Bernard Quaritch and limited to 250 copies. The original was printed in Choisy le Roi France and printed for Edward Torre. The book contains 6 drawings by Thackeray with a verse in his handwriting below each. The verses are written and illustrated in a whimsical style - "<I>Little Miss Perkins much loved pickled gerkins [sic]</B></I>".
