Written at an angle is: This coach charter to Ft. Davis & Back. The return trip only lists the 5 members of the Wilson party. Back lists the drivers and stations.

Charles Irving Wilson was appointed Assistant Surgeon in May 1861. He served with distinction during the Civil War and resigned 1 Jan 1867. He was appointed Captain three weeks later; assigned to the 14th Infy. in Dec. 1870, and honorably discharged a week later. He became paymaster in 1875; Lt. Col in June 1898; Col. July 1899; and retired May 1901 with rank of General. He is buried in Arlington.
