S/N 5K12290, Smith & Wesson Model 19-3 Combat .357 Magnum revolver, manufactured 1973. DPS numbered 20480. Blue finish, 2.5" barrel, checkered wood grips. Carried as a boot gun by Texas Ranger Sergeant and Brown County, Texas Sheriff Bobby R. Grubbs. Includes Grubbs' leather Bucheimer blackjack. Grubbs served 19 years as a Texas Ranger and had a total of34 1/2 years with the DPS. He was serving his third consecutive term as Brown County Sheriff, when he passed away on September 3, 2015, as a result of a massive stroke. Provenance also includes letter from DPS documenting the revolver.
