Collection of approximately 60 court documents from various Texas counties, including Mexican and Civil War eras, ranging in date from around the 1840s to the 1870s. Documents consist of legal briefs, petitions, assignments of errors, and other related documents ranging in length from single page to many pages. A wide array of topics are covered in this archive including land disputes, inheritances, estate settlements, and one concerning a horse race. The larger documents seem to be complete cases as well. Some of the larger documents are still held together with their original colored silk ribbons, and many also retain their original seals. In very good overall condition.
