Special orders from the Trans-Mississippi Head Quarters, datelined 28 June 1864, Shreveport. Civil War document directs Private John B. Floyd of Gano's Guards, Gano's Brigade of Texas Cavalry to report to J.K.P. Campbell CS in Dallas, Texas. Document reads: ''Priv. John B. Floyd of the Gano Guards of Gano's Brigade, of Texas Cavalry is detailed for sixty days...and will report to Maj. J.K.P. Campbell CS at Dallas Texas. This detail to take effect from 8th July 1864.'' Approved by General Edmund Kirby Smith and Assistant Adjutant-General S.S. Anderson. With note of receipt docketing to verso. Single page partially-printed document measures 8.25'' x 10.5''. Three punch holes and some discoloration, overall very good.
