<B><I>Reglamento E Instruccion Para Los Presidios Que Se Han De Formar En La Linea De Frontera De La Nueva Espana.</B></I></B></I> [<I>Regulation and Instruction For The Presidios That should be Formed along the border line of New Spain</B></I>]<I>. </B></I>Mexico: <I>Reimpreso en la Oficina de la Aguila, Dirigida por Jose Ximeno, Calle de Medinas numero 6</B></I>. 1834. Folio, 30 pp. <BR><BR>The line of fifteen presidios extended from Altar in Sonora to La Bahia del Espiritu Santo in Texas and included a presidio at Paso del Norte and another at Monclova. North of the line was a presidio at San Antonio de Bejar, and another at Santa Fe, New Mexico. The <I>Reglamento</B></I> goes into considerable detail as to the organization of each presidio. This is the first Mexican edition of an important and enduring borderlands decree, originally published in Spain in 1772, only a handful of which are known to exist. Full red morocco with gilt lettering. Title page and final integral wrapper exhibit minor silk repairs due to small sections of paper loss and a small tear on page 19 has also been repaired; else fine. <I>From the collection of Darrel Brown.</B></I><BR><BR><B>Reference: </B></I>Streeter <I>Texas</B></I> 706B, locating only 2 copies.
