Teufel Hunden 28 x19 Teufel Hunden
Teufel Hunden 28" x 19" Artist: signed only as "H." A very playful poster depicting two cartoon dogs in a chase, one being the American Marine in the form of a bulldog, and the other the German Hun represented by a Dachshund or "wiener dog." This laughable image is topped off by saying that the German soldiers refer to the U.S. Marines as "Teufel Hunden" or Devil Dogs. Teufel Hunden were actually wild dogs from the highlands of Bavaria, who were known for their ferocious and vicious personalities and relentless attacks. This nickname soon grew into an official mascot for the Marine Corps, the English Bulldog. A great piece of military history!

Condition-Poor; 3-4 severe tears down into the graphic of the poster, bottom edge is stained with dirt and residue, tape is present on the poster face and needs removal; poster is complete and repairable.

Important
