A traditional Tarahumara tesquino vessel possibly from Copper Canyon, Mexico. The vessel is crafted from terracotta and wrapped in rawhide for enhanced stability and durability. It has a distinctive bulbous form with a narrow neck and a flared lip, showcasing the craftsmanship typical of Tarahumara culture. The vessel has visible cracking, common in such utilitarian pieces. The rawhide is carefully lashed across the vessel's body, further securing its structure. Blackened areas on the vessel's surface likely result from traditional firing methods. Vessel and stand marked with museum identification "HB R705 - BT2". Vessel: 13"W x 10.5"H. Stand: 11.5"W x 9.5"H.
