Tenderloin (Warner Brothers, 1928). Lobby Card Set of 8 (11" X 14"). This film was only the second Vitaphone feature to contain talking sequences. Starring Dolores Costello, once known as the "Goddess of the Silent Screen" and Conrad Nagel, who was one of the 36 founders of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, this film is now believed to be lost. Far from lost, however, are these lovely lobby cards. All have pinholes and toning around the borders. In the scene cards the toning is minimal, but it is much more significant in the title card. Most have slight corner crimping and there is one smudge. These minor defects, however, do not detract from the stunning beauty of this set. These cards represent a vibrant reminder of a historic and sadly unavailable film. Very Fine/ Near MInt.
