Group of ten Russian books with scarce cosmonaut autographs

This lot contains ten books on space and related adventures, all written in the Russian language and bearing an amazing total of thirty-eight cosmonaut signatures! In hard cover unless noted, the books have the following titles: Space of the Universe (1973 soft cover), Earth and People (1973), Earth, Moon and Planets (1967-a scarce book by Fred Whipple), Salyut on the Orbit (1973), The Star City (1976 soft cover -two copies), Soviet Piloted Space Ships and Orbital Station (1976), Conquering Weightlessness (1976), People and Space (1975 soft cover),and Salyut 6 (1978 soft cover). Of the original five cosmonauts, the only signature not present is that of Yuri Gagarin, whose tragic accident predated publication. Included are fine examples of autographs from Leonov (the 1st man to walk in space), Popovich, Nikolaev, and Bikovsky. Also included are examples from the director of Space City, Peter Klymuk along with those of Khrunov, Zudov, Gubirev, Shonin, Lebedev, Volynov, Demin, Filipchenko, Sarafarov, Zholobov, Artyukhin, Gorbatko, Glazkov, Rukavishnokov and Shatalov. Several of these men are now deceased. For the advanced collector of astronaut and cosmonaut signatures, this is a rare opportunity to obtain examples from the early cosmonauts, Russia's space pioneers, in a very unique format.
