Wonderful original painting by noted sports artist Dick Perez of Boston Red Sox great Ted Williams, depicting the Hall of Fame baseball player in a full-length post-swing pose at Fenway Park, accomplished in watercolor on 14 x 20.25 artist board, signed in black felt tip by Williams. The painting is also signed in green paint by the artist, “Perez.” In fine condition. Accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Ted Williams Family Enterprises signed by John Henry Williams, which reads: "This letter is to certify that your original Perez Steele Great Moments artwork was personally and authentically signed by my father, Ted Williams."

This outstanding painting served as the front design for the classic 1987 Perez-Steele Great Moments #13 Ted Williams baseball card. The commemorative series made such a great impression that some of the Hall of Famers, including Williams, made a point to tell Perez how much they enjoyed them. It stands to reason that Perez, flattered by Williams’ comment, then chose to present to Williams the offered painting. A marvelous piece from an artist whose work with the Phillies, the Baseball Hall of Fame, and the beloved Perez-Steele card series has amazed generations of baseball fans. That the painting is signed by ‘Teddy Ballgame,’ and, moreover, that it derives from the Red Sox legend’s personal collection, is cause for excitement.
