This is a naturally preserved and inflated porcupinefish specimen, likely of the species Diodon holocanthus. The specimen is prepared in a spherical, distended form with numerous long, rigid spines characteristic of the Diodontidae family. The skin displays a light tan to yellowish-brown coloration with dark brown to black spots distributed across the dorsal and lateral surfaces. The mouth is fixed in an open position. Translucent fins are present on the body. A monofilament line is attached to the dorsal area for hanging display. No maker marks, labels, or stamps are present on the specimen.
