Tarzan and the Leopard Woman (RKO, 1946). Lobby Card Set of 8 (11" X 14"). With this film, Johnny Weismuller had inhabited the role of Tarzan for almost 15 years. Listen carefully, and you can hear Weismuller mutter under his breath, "Ow, my back!" after swinging off of the vine, as he tries to suck in his gut and tuck his adult diaper back under his loincloth. The story revolves around a leopard-worshipping cult that tries to destroy neighboring tribes in order the prevent the spread of civilization. Protests against imperialism are slightly more peaceful today. These cards prominently feature Tarzan and the beautiful high-priestess of the leopard cult, and in the corner of six of the cards is a small theater stamp designating the film "for general exhibition." The theater-used set has several pinholes, scuffs at the edges and one occurrence of tape repair. Very Fine.
