Likely manufactured in the 16th Century, in the Koto style. Measuring 15 1/4 inches overall, this dagger is equipped with a 10 1/2 inch long triangular blade, with straight temper lines, a deep single fuller with red accent, fitted with a silver finished bronze collar and installed in a ribbed black lacquer hilt. The saya has a matching black lacquer finish, with a waribashi-form soft metal kogai with gold, silver and bronze inlays and a finely executed floral and grass design in gold and silver lacquer.

Very good, showing a good state of polish on the blade, mild wear on the collar and light handling marks overall. The kosuka is absent. Hilt and sheath are both very good, with minor chips and dents.
