Brief summary of Tamara de Lempicka:
Her production focuses on female and nude portraits of both sexes. Following the flow of Art Deco painting, he painted ethereal women, with floating clothes and long fingers, although they give an iron and sculptural impression due to the polished brushwork and the marked contrasts of light and shadow; are her best examples, along with nudes.
Her main influences are Botticelli, Bronzino, Mannerist portraiture in general, and Cubism, but without reaching abstract art. Interestingly, Tamara used this eclecticism or fusion of ancient styles to represent current themes, where the figures wear clothes and hairstyles in the latest fashion.
Although the most popular images of her art are nudes, she also portrayed her daughter on several occasions and people related to the artistic bourgeoisie of Paris and New York. Her aesthetic has attracted entertainment stars such as Barbra Streisand, Jack Nicholson and Madonna, who are said to have collected her paintings. Madonna was inspired by this painter for her 1990 Vogue music video. A painting by Tamara also appears in the same singer's Open Your Heart painting. In 1990 Pablo Sodor premiered in Argentina TAMARA (The Living Movie), which recreates in a theatrical way never seen before, the painter's visit to Il Vittoriale degli Italiani, home of the poet Gabriele d'Annunzio.
During the interwar period, he painted glamor, sophistication, elegance and modernity in what we know as Art-Deco. The artist would become one of the visible heads of this movement.
Tamara de Lempicka's portraits, nudes, and other scenes are a window into the rich nobility and decadent aristocracy of the interwar period. You can almost smell Chanel perfume and you can feel the Great Gatsby, between the underground and total luxury.
