This image shows the Tallac Hotel in the forest. Owned by E.J. "Lucky" Baldwin, the Tallac Hotel became one the favorite destination spots for the wealthy. Named for the Mount Tallac, the hotel operated for 56 years and boasted a casino, small homes and cottages. The matte measures 6.40" x 4.20" while the photograph measures 6.10" x 3.80." The photographer is identified as R.J. Waters, who was listed in Berkeley, CA at the time. Please note that this location for Waters is not listed in Mautz.
