One of the prime books in the launching of the Marvel Age, this featured the origin and first appearance of Iron Man. Jack Kirby did the cover, and penciled the interior story on the new superhero. Don Heck also contributes story art in the issue, and would eventually take over the Iron Man feature in future issues, when Kirby got too busy with his numerous covers and interiors on other titles. CGC notes, "Small piece of tape on interior cover." Overstreet 2003 GD 2.0 value = $328. <I>From the Compleat Kirby Comic Collection</B></I>. <B>Estimate: $200-up</B> </FONT></TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE></TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE><BR><!--<a name="PricesRealized"></a> <table width="100%" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" bgcolor="#000000"> <tr> <td width="100%"> <table width="100%" border="0" cellspacing="1" cellpadding="3"> <tr> <td width="100%" bgcolor="#79735C"> <a name="PR"> <font face="arial" size="3" color="#FFFFFF"> <b>Previous Prices from Heritage Auctions</b> </td> </tr> <tr> <td bgcolor="#F6F6ED"> No Prior Data Recorded </td> </tr> <tr> <td bgcolor="#FFFFFF"> <font face="arial" size="1""> PLEASE NOTE: All prices realized reflect the final hammer price PLUS the buyer's premium in auctions that charge a buyer's premium. On occasion eBay live bid software cannot keep up with the pace of the auctions where 4-5 lots per minute can hammer down, so we recommend that you place a realistic absentee bid now as insurance to avoid disappointment.
