R. M. Watson was an early resident of Tahoe, arriving in the 1870s. He was elected constable in Tahoe City in 1906. He did leave Tahoe to join the Klondike Rush in 1896, but returned. He built this hotel, referred to in newspapers as the Watson Hotel or Hotel Watson, in 1890. "Situated at Tahoe City, at the Headwaters of the Truckee River. The Center of the Best Game and Fish Region on the Lake. Good Accommodations at reasonable rates." 2.5 x 3.75" We sold a couple of these from the Prag Collection, but they are pretty scarce.
