<B>William Howard Taft and William Jennings Bryan: A Rare and Colorful "Bartender's Friend" 1¾" Jugate Design.</B></I> This button features some of the most beautiful artwork of the prolific 1908 campaign. It is found in both Taft & Sherman and Bryan & Kern forms as well. Also sometimes termed a "salesman's friend" button, these may have been made for sale to individuals who would not want to offend their customers by expressing their political preference. However it may also be that these were intended as button salesmen's samples which could be ordered for either political ticket. In any case, these novelties have long been collector favorites.
