This beautiful Famille Rose vase depicts beautiful daily life scenes showing us the 19th century China, as well as skillfully painted floral ornaments. The painting is of a very high quality and you can actually feel the paint on the porcelain. The bronze fitting matches the vase’s paintings and fits perfectly, just as the elegant rose lampshade does, too.

The vase’s height is 44cm without the shade and 75cm with the shade. The shade’s size is 40 x 26cm.

For a long time, chinese porcelain has been painted blue and white. This changed with the beginning of the reign of Emperor Kangxi in 1662. Rose and green were suddenly used, giving the different styles their names – Famille Rose is obviously dominated by rose colours, partially combined with purple shades. This style has been dominating Chinese porcelain painting since the 18th century.
