PROVENANCE:
The Belfield Print Works in Germantown was owned by William Logan Fisher (1781-1862) and operated by his Son-in-law William Wister, husband of Sarah Logan Fisher. Fire destroyed most ot the "calico mill" in 1839 and is described on p. 84 in A Philadelphia Perspective. The Diary of Sidney George Fisher Covering The Years 1834-1871. A Sample book of printed cottons from the mill is in the collection of the Pennsylvania Historical Society.
