After the original oil sketch and modello depicting The History of Achilles in eight episodes, executed between 1630-1635, probably designed for Daniel Fourment, the tapestry merchant. The oil sketch and modello of this composition by Rubens (both in reverse) are in the Museum Boymans-van Bueningen, Rotterdam and the Prado, Madrid, respectively. A tapestry of this composition by D. Eggermans is in the Villa Vicosa, Paco Ducal.
