Mid 20th century, central Persia. 1) Heriz with poled central medallion in pale pink with indigo borders on a brick red field with polychrome floral devices all within ivory spandrals and polychrome zig-zag and tarantula guard borders. SIZE: 3' 7" x 6' 8". 2) Bakhtiari example with polychrome arabesque medallion on a red field of polychrome floral trelliswork within a blue-black floral filled main border. SIZE: 3' 5" X 4' 10". PROVENANCE: From the John Webber Estate of Bangor, Maine. CONDITION: the Heriz is supple and retains strong palette and full pile. The Bakhtiari with even overall wear. The rug with a slight degree of stiffness. (05-626/TG). $500-700.
