TWO MG3 / MG42 INFANTRY LAFETTE TRIPODS WITH

OPTICS & HK ILLUMINATION KITS. 1) S# 16034. 2) S# 17169. These amazing German tripods for the MG3/MG42 exhibit fine craftsmanship we've become accustomed to. These specific examples each have an additional very desirable accessory beyond the norm, adaptors for the Browning Model 1919 A4 machine gun. This often sought after indirect fire mount allows the shooter to be lower than the gun & still operate fluidly while viewing down range due to its periscope style optic that connects directly to the mount. Green canvas straps below mount & leather pad on front leg. Complete w/ original Hensoldt Wetzlar periscope style sight & H&K Illumination Kit. Optics kits include small chamois & brush as well as allen wrench & spanner in sm. rubber pouch. Green painted mount & scope w/ many markings filled in white. One mount dated 02/63, the other 06/63. CONDITION: Both mounts appear to be completely functional. All pieces move fluidly and lock tightly. Painted finish is complete and consistent w/ very legible markings. Carry straps & leather pad demonstrate some aging but both structurally fit and intact. Illumination kit packaged in green plastic factory storage box, complete w/ paper table of contents. Unable to verify illumination function. The mounting apparatus is solid & mounts and dismounts w/ ease. Scopes appear to have been used very little if used at all. Reticles look strong & all knobs move fluidly. 1) Painted finish only exhibits thinning at areas that interface w/ onboard storage box. All markings are clear. Glass appears clear. The rubber objective lens cap appears to have refused to be a victim of time, still remaining pliable & functional. 2) Rubber / foam padding under optics box is partially detached. Painted finish exhibits thinning at areas that interface w/ onboard storage box as well as some light usage marks. All markings are clear. Glass appears clear w/ a few floaters. The rubber objective lens cap is missing. (02-18109 & 02-18109-1/JZ) $1,000-1,800.
