The first "Malurus Hypoleucus/Fawn-Colored Superb Warbler", Plate 22 from Volume 8 of "The Birds of Australia", London 1840-1869, 7 volumes published between 1840-1848, having 600 lithographic plates and a one-volume supplement published 1851-69, with 81 lithographic plates, all done by either John and Elizabeth Gould or Gould and H.C. Richter, this example inscribed in the l.l.c. margin "J. Gould & H.C. Richter del. et lith.", in the l.r.c. "Walter Imp." The second "Grus Cinerea/Common Crane", Plate 19 from Volume 4 of "The Birds of Great Britain", published in London between 1862-1873, 5 volumes, with 367 lithographs drawn by John Gould, Joseph Wolf, H.C. Richter and William Hart, this example annotated in the l.l.c. margin "J. Wolf & W. Hart del. et lith.", in the l.r.c. "Walter Imp." Sight size the first 17 1/2"h x 12"w, the second 14 1/4"h x 19 3/4"w "Grus Cinerea" framed but not behind glass, resulting in scratches and a small gouge to the title area. A few minor areas of light foxing, and several small creases, none affecting image.
