TWO DATED 1840'S OHIO COVERLETS. Lot of 2, both wool and cotton or linen Jacquard-woven coverlets, with maker's name, date, location and who they were woven for. Includes a nice 3-color (indigo, red & olive green on white) two-piece in floral pattern signed in bottom corners "Samuel Gilbert/Trappe/Montgomry/County/1849/Mary Ann/Poley," from Dayton, Ohio area, 8'8" x 7'; AND a 4-color (indigo, 2 different reds & yellow on white) coverlet in stylized star & floral pattern with bottom corners signed "Made By/J.M. Myers/Bethel/Township/For/Elizabeth/Weaver/1844." 1st has many sewn repairs and edge wear, colors strong; 2nd with heavy wear, and numerous sewn repairs and fading.
