Fine group of twelve Connecticut "Pay Table" documents, all war-date, issued in Hartford and making payment to soldiers, officers, and quartermasters for a variety of reasons. Several are endorsed by important figures: ELIJAH WADSWORTH (1747-1817), a captain who served in Benjamin Tallmadge's company. He was also in command of the guard who held John André upon his arrest and trial; SELAH BENTON, lieutenant of the 8th Conn. who took the oath at Valley Forge in 1778; Lexington Minutemen ELIPHALET THORP and JOHN BARNARD, Capt. AMASA LOOMIS, and OLIVER WOLCOTT, JR. (1760 - 1833) American Revolution soldier and patriot, Secretary of the Treasury succeeding Hamilton. Overall very good. 12 pcs.
