TSIOLKOVSKY, KONSTANTIN
1128. KONSTANTIN TSIOLKOVSKY (1857 - 1935) Pioneering Russian scientist and rocket designer who laid out the basic principles of modern space flight. Rare, superb partial A.Ms. (unsigned), 2pp. sm. folio, [n.p., ca. 1931], in Russian. Untranslated, but undoubtedly part of his notes on space travel and particularly the sustaining of life during lengthy flights. At the center of the page, the scientist has sketched what is undoubtedly the figure of a man lying prostrate within an air-tight cocoon, a mask attached to his face with an air line leading to an air tank. Some foxing, with verso slightly dampstained, else very good. Certainly worthy of further research!$800-1,200
