LEON TROTSKY</b> (1879 - 1940) Russian Communist leader who with Lenin organized the Bolshevik October Revolution, defeated by Stalin in their struggle for control of the government, banished and later assassinated in Mexico. Large eight-line A.E.S. on the verso of a telegram sent to him by the Executive Committee of Klinsky [Moscow] Soviet Deputies, 1p. 8vo., [Moscow], May 21, 1918, asking that Trotsky address the group concerning the state of the Red Army. On the verso in blue indelible pencil Trotsky expresses his regret that his administrative obligations leaves him no opportunity, he wishes the Congress well and hopes they succeed in the current difficult situation that the country finds itself in, and signs at conclusion. Folds with some wear, overall near very good condition.<b>$600-800</b>
