Nicely designed and potted, on the model of a working brass Cooking Pot (which would have had longer legs), this Tomb container was used to house cooked and dried foods, herbs, nuts & seeds, or even wine for the use of the spirits when the tomb was sealed. Well-formed, of grey body-clay, its legs are intact and undamaged (rare) and it retains a lot of the white auspicious painting that was applied to its upper surface. One small ding on its outer flange - otherwise perfect. It measures 7-5/8" across by 4-3/8" tall. A great looking work of art.
