Very scarce and unique "Traveling Teller" stainless steel bank. It was the foolproof way to save money; only the bank teller had the key! This piece measures 3 5/8" wide x 1 3/4" deep x 2 3/8" high and is oval in shape. There are slots around all sides of the bank, each sized for a different coin, quarters, nickels, dimes, halves, and cents. The slots are marked so the value of the contents can be easily calculated. There is a round hole in the bottom for bills. The bottom of the bank is stamped: "The Traveling Teller", The Automatic Recording Safe Co., Chicago, U.S.A. Patented : April 26 1904, July 4 1905, April 25 1911, Sept 9 1913, Sept 23 1913. Issued by American State Bank, South 2nd. St. and W. National Ave., Milwaukee, WIS.
