March 19, 1864-Large B & W reprint of segmented panorama from the Civil War. Taken from the area of Fort Stanley, the photo indicates important batteries locations, other forts, areas held by Union Troops, the Holston River, city landmarks, and temporary batteries. These notes were hand-inscribed by Capt. Orlando M. Poe of Nashville, Tenn. He was the Union Engineer in charge of defensive earthworks and ditches to protect the Union forts. The photo is by the Office of the Chief of Engineers-War Department, from the National Archives. This is a framed & matted piece, measuring 40"x13". There are some scratches on the glass facing.
