THREE SCARCE AND DESIRABLE EARLY US CANTEENS

WWI THROUGH WWII.
1) Early first model spun aluminum US M1910 canteen w/ early style cap. Canteen marked on top of cap w/ what appears to be 2 sm. acceptance marks. Legible letters appear "W" "OT". Cap is retained by chain. CONDITION: canteen is in well worn condition w/ oxidation, sm. dents & scratches throughout.
2) Rare WWII "plastic" brownish colored canteen is marked on bottom w/ encircled "U.S. 1943" "MACK MOULDING CO." Black composite cap is retained by metal chain. Also included is plated steel canteen cup. Marked on handle "US" "1943" "FOLEY MFG CO". CONDITION: canteen has wear, discoloration & staining but does not appear cracked. Cup has areas of missing plating w/ wear, scratches & spots of light oxidation.
3) Enameled early WWII canteen. Canteen is marked in white at bottom "U.S." "S.M. CO." "1942". These canteens were produced in an attempt to save scarce aluminum for other wartime uses. Unsuccessful in the service, these canteens are seldom encountered today. Includes composite cap w/ cork gasket which is retained by a steel chain. CONDITION: black enamel has 3 sm. missing chips. Canteen has scattered sm. scratches but retains a good appearance. (02-15925/RW). $700-900.
