Noted American political cartoonist whose works in <i>Harper’s Weekly</i> lambasted the Tweed Ring. Nast’s caricatures of the elephant and donkey became the recognized symbols of the Republican and Democratic Parties. Signed sketch accomplished in pen and pencil, 4”x6¼”, a self caricature taking someone’s pulse. Annotated in his holograph, “<i>Prescription for Gen. L.P. 1. Auction Catalogue No. 19 is a Mail, Fax, Phone, Email and
Internet Live Bid Auction and is conducted under the laws of the State
of West Virginia by Gil Griggs, Licensee of Charleston, W. V. License
No. 002.
2. Absentee bid closing date is April 5th, 2002, 10:00 PM EST.
3. There is a 15% Buyer’s Premium charged on the final hammer price
of each lot. An additional 2½% Premium will be added to any lots
purchased through ebayliveauctions.com.
4. The Auctioneer reserves the right to reject any bid for any
reason.
5. The Auctioneer reserves the right to withdraw any lot for any
reason.
6. In the event of duplicate high bids, the earliest bid received
will be the winner.

to Signature House. Payment must be made in U.S. funds. Wire transfer
details are available upon request. West Virginia residents will pay a
sales tax of 6% unless a resale number is filed with us prior to the closing date. For sales outside of the USA a
credit card is requested.

14. Golden Guarantee: All material is returnable within seven day
providing that it comes back in the same condition. There is a

expert authenticators acceptable to both parties.
15. The placing of a bid shall constitute acceptance of the
preceding terms and conditions of sale.
