(1840 - 1902) American political cartoonist whose works in Harper's Weekly lambasted the Tweed Ring, and made the elephant and donkey recognized as the symbols of the Republican and Democratic parties. Fine original pen and ink drawing executed on a 4 1/2" x 3 1/2" sheet and showing the artist energetically at work on a sketch. Boldly signed, mounted and very good. Along with a signature on a small card adding date Jan. 25, 1900. Mounting traces, else very good. Two pieces.
