A scarce Edison-related imprint, Addresses Delivered at the Presentation to Mr. Thomas Alva Edison of the Medal Bestowed Upon Him By the Congress of the United States, 28pp. 9" x 12", [n.p., ca. 1928], three plates. On Oct. 20, 1928, the 49th anniversary of the invention of the incandescent light, Edison was awarded the Congressional Gold Medal at his laboratory in West Orange. This volume, printed on high-quality rag, bears the texts of speeches and comments made at the event by Edison, President Calvin Coolidge, Andrew W. Mellon, and other dignitaries. Some slight offsetting from the plates, and one small corner of the front cover is heavily soiled, else very good. Sold with a check issued by the Edison Botonic Research Corp, West Orange, Oct. 6, 1930, making a $47.19 payment to "H. Gibbs", signed by the company's vice president and treasurer. Two pieces.
