THOMAS CHURCH COLLECTION. Thomas Church was a lumberman and a numismatist in the later 1890s. While living in Ottawa, Canada, he produced tokens for himself and for the numismatists of the time. In most cases, the mintages for individual issues can be counted on both hands. Church produced these tokens by hand-cutting the dies and planchets, then producing the tokens one at a time. This is the largest collection of Thomas Church tokens to be offered at public auction--over 75 pieces in total.

Canada Thomas Church Group. The first is Bowman 1-24, white metal, 7.8 gms, 22 mm; and a B1-24a, white metal, no crossbar, 8.6 gms, 22 mm.
