THOMAS A. EDISON
(1847 - 1931) American inventor of the electric light, phonograph, typewriter, and microphone, to name a few. Considered perhaps the greatest inventor of the century. D.S. 1p. 8vo., a pass on the Delaware, Lackawanna & Western Railroad good only on Sep. 22, 1930, celebrates the electrification of the Lackawanna railroad with the pass being for a chartered train between the Oranges in New Jersey to New York. Signed on the verso in pencil by Edison. An addled collector pasted the pass to a sheet, but an identical pass is mounted beneath, face-up.
